Atlanta Chinese Dance Company (ACDC) presents original full-evening productions in a formal theater setting every eighteen months. Performances feature the full company of 80+ dancers as well as guest artists from companies such as Dance China NY and Atlanta Ballet.

Community Outreach Performances
Length: 5 minutes to 2 hours (per
request of the host)
ACDC has been an ambassador for cultural awareness through community outreach performances throughout metro Atlanta and surrounding states, including Chinese New Year and other traditional holiday festivities, arts festivals, international days, schools, libraries, community centers, senior homes, hospitals, and corporate events. The company has performed at high profile events such as the 100 Day Naming Ceremony for Zoo Atlanta's panda cub "Po" (2011), the opening ceremony of High Museum of Art in Atlanta's "The First Emperor: China's Terracotta Army" (2009), the "Chinese" variation of Atlanta Ballet's "The Nutcracker" at the Fabulous Fox Theatre (1998-2007), and the opening and closing ceremonies of the Centennial Olympic Games (1996).

Educational Lecture-Demonstrations
Length: 45-60 minutes
Specifically designed for schools, community centers, and libraries in mind, ACDC's lecture-demonstration combines traditional Chinese dance performances with detailed live narration and audience participation to introduce traditional Chinese dance, history, and culture in an interactive setting. ACDC's lecture-demonstration duo features a narrator/instructor (artistic director Hwee-Eng Y. Lee) and a solo professional dancer (Kerry Lee). In-person and virtual options available.

Interactive Workshops
Length: 45-90 minutes
Get on your feet and learn two of the most representative Chinese folk dances, the ribbon dance and fan dance. This program can be scheduled alone or in conjunction with a lecture-demonstration or performance.

Ongoing Classes
Length: 1-1.5 hour per week
ACDC offers weekly Chinese dance classes to students age 4 through adult at the Culture Center of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chamblee. Taught by artistic director Hwee-Eng Y. Lee (who has been teaching Chinese dance in metro Atlanta for 20+ years), the curriculum includes folk, classical, and contemporary Chinese dance technique and repertory from several of China's 56 ethnic groups. Dancers have several performing opportunities through ACDC's full-evening productions and community outreach performances.
